Back to the foot comparison chart
Numbers alone are hard to picture
Whether it is a partner, shoe shopping, or curiosity—you usually want to know whose foot is longer and by how many centimetres. Two numbers in a chart are abstract; putting both feet together makes the gap obvious.
Edit height or foot length above. Prefer a photo look? Use Photo and flip sole / top of foot. We also show a rough US/UK/EU shoe size from foot length (brands still vary).
How to measure foot length
Use the same landmarks every time—heel to the tip of your longest toe:
- Stand on paper with weight even, heel against a wall if you can.
- Mark the back of the heel and the tip of the longest toe.
- Measure that distance in centimetres—that is your foot length (Mondopoint in millimetres).
Measure both feet; use the longer one for shoe shopping. Afternoon feet can be slightly larger.
Foot length and shoe size (US / UK / EU)
Mondopoint is simply foot length in millimetres. EU, UK and US sizes are approximate conversions—last shape and brand sizing still matter. Use the chart above as a starting point, not a guarantee.
Women’s and men’s US scales differ. If a brand runs narrow or wide, trust their fit guide over any universal table.
Average adult foot length
Typical adult ranges used for visualization (not medical standards):
| Group | Foot length |
|---|---|
| Adult men (approx.) | 26.5 cm |
| Adult women (approx.) | 24 cm |
Averages vary by population; your measured length always wins.
Estimated foot length from height
Rough estimates from height—useful for curiosity comparisons, not fitting shoes for someone else.
| Person / average | Height | Est. foot length | Approx. shoe size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Average woman (~163 cm) | 163 cm | ~23.8 cm | US 5 · UK 3 · EU 35.5 |
| Messi (est.) | 170 cm | ~25.8 cm | US 6.5 · UK 5.5 · EU 38.5 |
| Average man (~175 cm) | 175 cm | ~26.6 cm | US 7.5 · UK 6.5 · EU 40 |
| Yamal (est.) | 180 cm | ~27.4 cm | US 8.5 · UK 7.5 · EU 41 |
| Ronaldo (est.) | 187 cm | ~28.4 cm | US 9.5 · UK 8.5 · EU 42.5 |
| Haaland (est.) | 195 cm | ~29.6 cm | US 11 · UK 10 · EU 44.5 |
Estimates only—athletes’ real foot length may differ.
How to use the chart
Change labels, gender, height or foot length; switch photo vs outline; open the same pair on the home page to share.
Also compare hands?
Stack two hands by height or measured length—outline or photo—the same way as feet.
FAQ
- Can I compare foot size from height only?
- Yes—enter height and we estimate foot length. For shopping or a closer match, measure heel to longest toe in centimetres.
- How do I compare my foot with my partner’s?
- Put each person on side A and B, set gender and height or measured length, then stack the feet on the chart.
- How do US, UK and EU shoe sizes relate to foot length?
- We convert Mondopoint (foot length in mm) to approximate US/UK/EU sizes. Brands and width still vary—use it as a guide.
- How accurate is the photo vs outline?
- Outline scales purely by foot length. Photos are for realism; if a photo fails to load, the outline is used automatically.
- Can I compare hands and feet together?
- Open the home tool and add both shapes, or start from our hand size comparison guide and add feet there.
- What is the correct way to measure foot length?
- Heel to the tip of the longest toe while standing. Use the longer foot when the two differ.
