For land animals we use shoulder height with all four feet on the ground—the usual way wildlife sizes are listed. Whales and sharks use body length instead. Each card shows which measure is used.

Figures are typical adult mid-range values used for size comparison. Real animals vary by sex, age, and region. Use them to understand relative size, not as a veterinary measurement.

Megalodon is extinct. Size estimates from fossils usually fall around 14–24 meters long. We use a commonly cited large-adult figure and mark it approximate so it is not confused with a measured living animal.
