Frame labels mean the opening
A “5×7 frame” almost always means a 5×7 opening. The outer moulding can be much wider. When you compare or order, match the print to the glass or mat window—not the outer edge.

- Why do people buy 8×10 frames?

- Will my photo get cropped?

- What about 4×4 squares?
- Square prints are 1:1. Most phones shoot a taller rectangle first, so you’ll crop to a square before printing.
